  • A fantastic and highly rewarding opportunity has arisen for a 37.5 hour Me Time Coordinator post to join our enthusiastic and passionate colleagues in Tameside, Greater Manchester.

    Me Time is Mencap’s social inclusion, leisure and community led programme, supporting people with a learning disability to develop the skills and confidence to develop relationships and be fully included in their local community. Me Time provide a range of support for individuals to do this, through the direct provision of a range of community activities as well as support to access community groups and local opportunities.


    As a Coordinator you will be a valued colleague within a team, you will be flexible and committed to supporting people. Your role is responsible for leading, developing and offering a range of responsive activities to people with a learning disability accessing Tameside Me Time.

     

    What will your key responsibilities will be?

    • Actively reviewing and adjusting the delivery to meet the changing needs of the people being supported. Building community connections, circles of support for greater independence and confidence.
    • You will work together with the Programme Coordinator to plan and develop Me Time, leading and supporting a team of colleagues.
    • Accountable for the progression of each person, in line with plans to ensure contractual targets are achieved and the person is fully involved in all aspect of the planning and review process.
    • Measuring outcomes and impact experienced by the people being supported and providing case studies and stories to evidence impact.
    • Building a rapport with the people we support, their family members, carers, other professionals and community partners to increase asset-based community developments.
    • Will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of people being supported, including risk management and safeguarding.
    • Competent at completing all recording requirements in a timely manner, including an understanding of budgets and invoicing.
    • Be flexibility and can work from different locations and projects within the community.
    • Work in a way that enables the people being supported to make decisions and choices and encourage trying new opportunities in line with the life each person chooses to lead.

     

    The Me Time model is person centred and focused on improving quality of life for the people engaged on the programme as well as providing pathways to other opportunities, for example volunteering or employment.
