  • At Mencap, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a happy and fulfilling life. As we continue to invest in our digital, data and technology capabilities, we're looking for an exceptional Head of Digital Delivery to lead our teams, inspire future-focused thinking, and ensure we deliver technology that makes a real difference to the people we support.

This is a leadership role first and foremost. We're seeking someone who thrives on developing people, building high-performing teams, creating clarity in complex environments, and confidently leading through change. While a strong understanding of digital delivery is important, your ability to inspire others, influence stakeholders, and create an environment where teams can succeed will be what sets you apart.

This is a permanent full time (37.5 hour a week) role - It is home-based, with occasional travel required.

    About the Role

As Head of Digital Delivery, you'll play a pivotal leadership role within our Digital, Data & Technology function, working closely with senior leaders to shape priorities, drive organisational change, and ensure our digital initiatives are delivered successfully.

You'll lead and coach Squad Leads and delivery leaders, helping them grow their capability while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. You'll also provide strategic oversight across a portfolio of digital initiatives, ensuring teams have the focus, resources and support they need to achieve meaningful outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence decisions at the highest levels of the organisation, bringing together people, technology and strategy to deliver lasting impact.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Leading, coaching and developing a team of Squad Leads and delivery professionals.
    • Building a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture where people can do their best work.
    • Providing leadership across multiple digital initiatives and programmes of work.
    • Supporting leaders through organisational and operational change.
    • Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders to shape priorities and make informed decisions.
    • Balancing competing demands while ensuring teams remain focused on achievable outcomes.
    • Creating visibility of risks, challenges and dependencies across the digital portfolio.
    • Championing continuous improvement, innovation and effective ways of working.
    • Ensuring digital solutions align with organisational objectives and deliver real value.

What We're Looking For (essential requirements)

    Exceptional Leadership Skills

    • Experience leading leaders and developing high-performing teams.
    • A coaching and empowering leadership style.
    • The ability to build credibility and strong relationships across an organisation.
    • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments.
    • The confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior decision-makers.

    Strategic Thinking & Delivery Expertise

    • Experience leading digital, technology, transformation or change functions.
    • A track record of successfully delivering through others rather than directly managing projects.
    • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
    • Experience working within complex organisations where governance and prioritisation are critical.

    Personal Qualities

    • Authentic and inclusive leadership.
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
    • Strong judgement and decision-making capability.
    • High levels of integrity, resilience and accountability.
    • A genuine passion for empowering people and driving positive change.
