  • We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract at a brand-new supported living service in Doncaster, consisting of 11 flats.
     

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their management career while playing a key role in launching an entirely new service. Working alongside the Service Manager, you'll have the unique opportunity to help shape the culture, standards, and success of the service from the very beginning.

    From supporting with recruitment and developing a brand-new team, to helping create an outstanding environment for the people we support, this role offers the chance to truly make your mark and be part of an exciting new chapter.

    Whether you're an experienced Team Leader, Senior Support Worker, Assistant Service Manager, or an established manager looking for a fresh challenge, this is an opportunity to be involved in building something special.

    What will you be doing?

    As an Assistant Service Manager, you will support the Service Manager with the day-to-day running of the service and help ensure the people we support receive high-quality, person-centred support.

    You will:

    • Support the Service Manager with the operational management of the service.
    • Help recruit, develop, and support a brand-new team.
    • Lead, motivate, and inspire colleagues to deliver outstanding support.
    • Ensure the service operates in line with organisational policies and procedures.
    • Support with staff supervision, development, and performance management.
    • Build positive relationships with the people we support, families, professionals, and other stakeholders.
    • Support compliance, safeguarding, and quality assurance processes.
    • Be confident working with electronic systems and digital records.
    • Help create a positive, inclusive, and values-led culture within the service.

    What are we looking for?

    We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people and developing teams.

    You will:

    • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Be confident supporting and leading a team.
    • Have previous experience within health and social care.
    • Have supervisory or leadership experience (desirable but not essential).
    • Be organised, proactive, and able to work flexibly.
    • Be IT literate and comfortable using electronic systems.
    • Have a positive attitude and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality support.
