  • 🚗 Support Worker (Driver Required) – St Albans

    Are you compassionate, reliable, and ready to make a real difference? Mencap is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join our fantastic team in St Albans.

    As a Support Worker, you’ll support people with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, independent, and happy lives. You’ll work with a diverse group of individuals, each with their own strengths, personalities, and support needs — no two days are ever the same.

    From helping with daily activities to offering emotional support and encouragement, you’ll play an essential role in supporting people to achieve their goals and enjoy life to the fullest.

     

    What we’re looking for:

    • A genuine passion for supporting others
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
    • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach
    • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
    • A full UK driving licence

     

    Contract options:

    • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
    • Part-time: Variable hours available

     

    Shift times:

    Our services operate 24 hours a day, and rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance, helping you plan your personal and social life.

    • Day shifts: Between 07:00 – 22:00
    • Sleep-ins: 22:00 – 07:00
      • Sleep-ins are paid at an enhanced flat rate of £64.20 per shift

     

    * All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
