Temporary Area Operations Manager – Fixed Term Until April 2026

Mencap is currently recruiting for a Temporary Area Operations Manager to join our team on a fixed-term contract until April 2026.

In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of established services, working in close partnership with Service Managers to ensure the delivery of safe, person-centred, and high-quality support. You will lead with purpose, inspire your teams, and help foster a culture where the people we support—and our staff—can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:

Building strong, positive relationships across services

Monitoring and improving service performance using data and KPIs

Coaching and supporting managers to develop their leadership

Managing financial risks and opportunities

Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards
We are looking for someone with experience in the care sector or another people-focused environment, who understands the regulatory landscape and demonstrates a supportive, inclusive leadership approach. You should be confident in managing multiple services and budgets, and have a track record of motivating teams through periods of change and development.
