Mencap are recruiting for a Learning Disability Caseworker (LDC) to give end to end advice casework on welfare benefits, housing, health, and community care, to people with a learning disability, their families, carers, and professionals working with them. Some of this advice will be live caseload, and some will be created, reviewed and added to the Mencap website by you. You will be responsible for keeping your advice casework records and the Information and Advice Hub content up to date and accurate.
The Learning Disability Caseworker role can be based anywhere in England, with travel to events and casework venues and occasionally to our Peterborough office. This role will be full time (37.5 hours) on a fixed term contract until September 2027.

Do you have the key skills for a Learning Disability Caseworker?
- Level 3 qualification in giving advice or an equivalent relevant qualification in a specific advice area
- Strong communicator with analytical skills
- Experience of working in an outcomes and impact focused advice service
- Experience of working with a CRM system and keeping clear advice records
- Excellent I.T skills including Drupal and the use of Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to spot high risk cases and put in safeguarding alerts
- Well-developed listening and diagnostic skills
- In depth knowledge of social care and the welfare benefits system
- The ability to communicate clearly in another language is desirable, but not essential
