Female Waking Night Support Worker – Make Every Night Meaningful

Mencap is looking for caring and dedicated Female Waking Night Support Workers to support three ladies aged 46–78 to live safe, comfortable, and fulfilling lives.
As a waking night support worker, you'll play a vital role in providing reassurance and support throughout the night, helping to ensure the ladies remain safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Responsibilities include providing personal care when required, supporting with mobility, administering medication where appropriate, completing regular wellbeing checks, responding to any overnight needs, and maintaining accurate records. You'll also help prepare the home for the day ahead, ensuring a smooth handover to the daytime team.
One individual uses a wheelchair when out in the community, and all three ladies enjoy active, fulfilling lives supported by the wider team during the day.
Shift pattern:
- Waking Night: 10:00pm – 7:00am
What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others
- Strong communication skills and a positive, empathetic approach
- The ability to remain calm, attentive, and proactive during overnight shifts
- Flexibility to work waking night shifts
- A driver is preferred
Hours: Part-time with flexible hours based on availability.
