  • Head of External Affairs & Advice Pennaeth Materion Allanol a Chyngor

    We need to expand our leadership of our External Affairs, Advice, Information and advocacy services and are looking for a person to lead our external affairs team in Mencap Cymru, providing strategic leadership and connections to those who can help us deliver more inclusive communities and greater awareness of and challenges to the barriers people with a learning disability face in Wales today.

    Mae angen i ni ehangu ein harweinyddiaeth ar ein gwasanaethau Materion Allanol, Cyngor, Gwybodaeth ac eiriolaeth ac rydym yn chwilio am berson i arwain ein tîm materion allanol ym Mencap Cymru, gan ddarparu arweinyddiaeth strategol a chysylltiadau â'r rhai gall ein helpu i ddarparu cymunedau mwy cynhwysol, a mwy o ymwybyddiaeth o'r rhwystrau y mae pobl ag anabledd dysgu yn eu hwynebu yng Nghymru heddiw, a'r heriau iddynt.

    The role is 24 hrs (3 days a week - Wednesday to Friday) and will work alongside the existing Head of Information, Advice and Advocacy. You will focus on our influencing priorities and ensure the voices of people with a learning disability are heard by decision makers across Wales.

    Mae'r rôl yn 24 awr (3 diwrnod yr wythnos - dydd Mercher i ddydd Gwener) a byddwch yn gweithio ochr yn ochr â'r Pennaeth Gwybodaeth, Cyngor ac Eiriolaeth presennol. Byddwch yn canolbwyntio ar ein blaenoriaethau dylanwadu ac yn sicrhau bod lleisiau pobl ag anabledd dysgu yn cael eu clywed gan penderfynwyr ledled Cymru.

    · You will have proven experience in a senior external affairs role.

    · Have led a national or UK campaigns or communication team

    · Speak Welsh well enough to undertake interviews with Welsh language media, and represent Mencap Cymru at public events such as the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol

    · Be a car driver with access to a vehicle

    · Have experience managing budgets

    · Based at our Abercynon office with flexible working options
