  • Are you an experienced fundraiser who thrives on building relationships and turning great ideas into income?

We’re looking for an ambitious, hard‑working Community Fundraising Officer to join our Community Fundraising Team (part of Public Fundraising). You’ll work across multiple audiences with a particular focus on community groups and corporates to deliver exceptional stewardship, grow a healthy pipeline, and help us achieve our income targets so more people with a learning disability can live their lives to the full.

This role is a full time (37.5 hours per week), permanent role. We’re offering flexibility as to where this role is based.

In this fast‑paced and rewarding role, you’ll lead on supporter journeys that make people feel valued and inspired to do more. You’ll steward a wide range of supporters (groups, corporates, trusts and individuals), hit agreed KPIs, and help shape an engaging calendar of activity. You’ll also represent Mencap through confident presentations, support a new mass‑participation fundraiser, and use Salesforce (CRM) to keep activity on track and insight‑driven

    What you’ll do

    • Deliver income targets and KPIs by engaging new and existing supporters.
    • Build and manage a pipeline of fundraising opportunities, especially across groups and corporates.
    • Create and deliver excellent supporter journeys that inspire long‑term engagement.
    • Represent Mencap confidently in presentations and meetings.
    • Support the delivery of a new mass‑participation fundraiser.
    • Maintain accurate records and use CRM systems (including Salesforce) to track progress.
    • Recruit and steward volunteers to grow community reach.
    • Contribute to planning, budgeting and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations.

    What you’ll bring

    • Strong stewardship skills and proven experience in fundraising or other target‑driven roles.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently and collaboratively.
    • Confidence in prospecting and tailoring approaches for different audiences.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable using IT tools and CRM systems.
    • A commitment to Mencap’s values -passion, brave, inclusive, positive and kind.

If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional supporter care, driven by targets and the impact your work can create, and excited about helping to build more inclusive communities, we’d love to hear from you. This is your chance to play a key role in growing our community fundraising portfolio and making a real difference every day, so if this sounds like you, apply now.

The advert will close on 5 March 2026. First‑stage interviews will take place online via Teams on 9 March 2026, with second‑stage, face‑to‑face interviews held in our London office on 12 March 2026.
