We are recruiting for a HR Shared Services Advisor to join our busy and proven HR team in Peterborough the role is 25 hours per week fixed term contract to cover a secondment until end of October 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join a centralised HR Shared Service team and really make a difference to the people we support.
Here at Mencap we understand that some of our office based colleagues can do their role from a range of locations, which is why we like to be flexible, the role requires you to work 25 hours per week, you can choose to work from home or from our Peterborough office. During your first month of training, you'll be expected to come in twice a week.
Are you someone who is willing to learn and try new tasks? We need a confident person to answer calls and emails. It would be good for you to have some computer skills.
Do you have the skills to become a HR Shared Service Advisor?
- You will be doing all employment checks for new employees.
- Making sure we have employment references and correct identification documents.
- Making sure all data is correct in Mencap systems and uploaded.
- Sending letters to employees at Mencap.
- Experienced and confident in using a wide range of different software and databases
- Ideally have a good understanding of policies and procedures with the ability to guide our internal customers using the relevant policy and procedures
- Sending references to previous employees.
- The successful candidates ideally will have experience working within a customer service environment. You will have the ability to work decisively in collaboration with the teams we support all over the UK.
