We have an exciting opportunity for an Employ Me Programme Coordinator to join our Employ Me team on a full time (37.5 hours per week) basis until December 2026, to deliver supported employment programmes in the South London borough of Sutton. Mencap's Employ Me team provide supported employment programmes for people with a learning disability, learning difficulty and autism.
The Employ Me team work with partners to develop innovative and inclusive programmes that will support people to develop skills, knowledge and experience that leads to paid employment opportunities.
The aim of the service is to support adults to gain new skills & build confidence and obtain and sustain opportunities which may include paid employment through the delivery of effective and innovative models of employment support. The service supports pathways and progression routes and works constructively with local employers, building effective relationships to support them, seeing employing people with a disability as an integral part of their workforce and feel confidence in supporting and retaining staff with disabilities. The successful person will manage the delivery of the programme ensuring adherence to agreed quality frameworks.
About the service:
- Target service users who meet the ‘eligibility criteria’
- Deliver evidenced outcomes for service users so that their journey towards employment and employment based opportunities can be tracked and their progress measured
- Provide a targeted, time-limited and structured supported employment service for service users to access employment based opportunities and to become work ready, access employment and sustain their job
- Provide a range of innovative employment options and meaningful employment related opportunities, to meet the employment needs of service users and those of the local job market
- Deliver models of supported employment suit the needs of individuals
We are looking for a leader who will manage a team of Employ Me Caseworkers, Engagement Officers and Job Coaches to deliver the Sutton Employment Service building and developing local partnerships with multi agency stakeholders to expand work opportunities, develop referral pathways and achieve outcomes for people with a learning disability.
The successful person will require prior experience of driving performance-led programme delivery within the supported employment sector, as well as the knowledge to implement robust monitoring and reporting processes for example. They will need to work closely with LBS commissioners; prime providers and Mencap's quality team to maintain a rigorous reporting system and self-assessment process.
