Are you passionate about inclusion and driven to create real change? We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Development Coach to join Mencap’s small yet dynamic research team in London.

As a Development Coach, you will empower individuals with learning disabilities to excel in research roles and facilitate their involvement in shaping research concerning Learning Disabilities. Additionally, you will advocate for inclusive practices throughout the organisation, identifying opportunities for engagement and driving positive change.
This is a Part time (15 to 22.5 hours per week). The hours will be spread across two or three full days. We are flexible with your work location; However, you are expected in the London office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays  to support team collaboration and service delivery.

Your key responsibilities as a Development Coach:
  • Provide tailored, day-to-day support to colleagues with learning disabilities (LD), helping them grow in confidence, develop new skills, and thrive in their research role.
  • Champion inclusive research practices across the organisation, identifying opportunities for meaningful involvement and leading positive change.
  • Support the wider team in embedding co-production and inclusive approaches into our research and impact work.
Do you have the experience to be our Development Coach:

  • Is committed to inclusion and eager to learn more about co-production and inclusive research (prior research experience is not essential—we will support you to develop in the role).
  • Sees potential in others and knows how to bring it out.
If you have a passion for advancing inclusion, shaping research, and building a stronger voice for people with learning disabilities, then please apply now with an up-to-date CV.
