We have two exciting opportunities within the Recruitment Team at Mencap!

We are recruiting 2 Recruitment Assistant Managers.

As a Recruitment Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the team to meet organisational recruitment objectives. You will lead a dedicated delivery team that will focus their support on either:

  • Personal Support – This role will support the delivery of recruitment to our Personal Support teams.  This role will be responsible for the recruitment of support workers and managers within this directorates. This roles focuses primarily on England services but will involve support for Northern Ireland and Wales.   
  • Enabling and Education –This role will support our enabling teams, with their recruitment and our education services.  This recruitment varies by different support functions and covers Northern Ireland and Wales. 

Your leadership will be crucial in meeting team objectives around vacancy rates and agency spend.  In your role you will be enhancing the recruitment processes for your designated area of the recruitment team.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Recruitment Campaigns: Manage some recruitment and support your direct reports in their recruitment campaigns for your designated area (Personal Support Services or Enabling and Education Services).
  • Support Organisational Objectives: Collectively with the Recruitment manager design and deliver a clear recruitment pathway for your area of the business.
  • Team Coaching: Provide coaching and support to your team and Hiring Managers to enhance their skills and knowledge around recruitment at Mencap.
  • Campaign Review: Regularly review recruitment campaigns and advertising revenues to ensure our return on investment.
  • Line Management: Directly manage your team, setting clear goals and conducting performance reviews to help them achieve their objectives.
  • Operational Meetings: Hold regular meetings to review processes and recruitment practices for your designated area.
  • Belonging: Support the team in utilising diverse recruitment methods to attract the right candidates for the roles and ensure a fair and clear recruitment process.
  • Data-Driven Innovation: Use data insights to drive innovation and improve recruitment strategies.
The experience you will bring:
  • You will have a proven track record of managing successful recruitment campaigns (Identifying the vacancy, design a suitable advertising strategy, screen and shortlist, interview planning and onboarding). 
  • You will be able to demonstrate Mencap values in your approach to recruitment 
  • You will demonstrate knowledge about using an ATS and being able to innovate systems to enhance the recruitment process for all stakeholders.
