    What does a Support Worker do?

    As a Support Worker, you will play an important role in providing high-quality, person-centred support. Every individual is unique, and you will help them achieve their goals, build confidence and enjoy greater independence.

    Your responsibilities may include:

    • Personal care: Supporting individuals with getting ready for the day, bathing, showering and using the bathroom, while always promoting dignity, privacy and choice.

    • Supporting independent living: Helping with budgeting, paying bills, household tasks, organising appointments and preparing healthy, enjoyable meals.

    • Communication and relationship building: Developing positive and trusting relationships and supporting individuals to communicate, understand the world around them and express their choices.

    • Community and social inclusion: Supporting people to access their local community, attend social activities and events, develop life skills and enjoy meaningful experiences.

    • Promoting choice and independence: Encouraging individuals to make their own decisions, develop new skills and live life as independently as possible.
