We are looking for a talented Senior Community Advocacy Worker in Northern Ireland.
Your role will be to deliver the Right Support Right Time Advocacy Support Services for people with learning disabilities across Northern Ireland. You will be responsible for developing, organising and delivering tailored advocacy support services. You will work with the programme manager and advocacy support team to achieve project targets and best outcome for the people we support.
What you will bring
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to break down complex information and present it in accessible way
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within and outside an organisation
Ability to produce written reports, and use excel to manage and summarise data
Ability to develop a positive rapport with others and work collaboratively
You will:
Provide line management support to the Community Advocacy Workers
Manage and produce reports as required by programme funders
Provide one to one and group advocacy support to individuals with learning disabilities, empowering them to resolve their issues, have their voices heard and their rights safeguarded.
Encourage and facilitate self-help, enabling individuals to better understand and manage their wellbeing through prevention and early intervention.
Liaise, maintain and develop positive working relationships with relevant professionals.
Maintain timely and accurate case notes, providing formal and informal written and verbal reports on clients and casework as required.
Your Experience
Ability to demonstrate line management or supervision of staff or volunteers
Ability to demonstrate experience of budget planning and working to set targets
Experience of collaborating with a variety of stakeholders through strong verbal and written communication
Experience of working with groups of people who may be vulnerable
