Support Worker – Specific Occupational Requirement
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist two gentlemen with complex needs both within their home and in the community.
Due to specific behavioural patterns of one of the individuals we support, there is an occupational requirement for the successful applicant to be a mature candidate. This requirement is essential to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both the individual and the support team. We welcome applications from mature candidates who can meet this specific requirement. Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a passionate Support Worker to join our incredible experienced team in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning and physical disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and support needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
Our service is home to two individuals. As part of the team, you will be supporting our residents with everyday tasks such as maintaining their homes, supporting with medication, budgeting and balancing finances, intimate personal care and social activities within the community. Full training will be given.
What we're looking for:
· A genuine passion for supporting others.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
· A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
· Part-time: 20 hours on a rolling rota basis to include a sleep in.
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
Shift Pattern
· Days: Between 07:00-15:00, 15:00 – 22:00 including Sleep, 10:00-12:00
· Sleep shift: 22:00 – 07:00
Sleep-in is paid at an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
