Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join our incredible team in Leeds – LS7 on a  permanent, full time basis (37.5 hours per week).

We are looking for an experienced manager who can lead a team of support workers to manage services in Leeds, to support a gentleman to live independently in his home and to have the support he needs to live and connect to the community in Chapeltown.

While initially he likes his own space, he will want to slowly build a relationship with you when he is ready.  You will need to watch, listen and understand how he likes to be supported, this will help you to help him to try new things, to look at new activities and develop positive relationships. He will be nervous about taking some new steps - and you may be too!

However, you will bring with you a wealth of knowledge about working with people with complex needs, challenging behaviour and positive behaviour support is essential. You will have experience of working with families and a range of agencies to make plans and lead a new team to enable the person you are supporting to live a happy and fulfilled life in their own community.

Sometimes days may be difficult, but we think it will be worth it as you will be a key player in supporting him to make the decisions that will enable him to live the life that he chooses.  This may take perseverance and resilience on your part but the reward will be huge when you see the difference you can make, but most of all, the smile on his face! If you are interested in finding out more then please don’t be shy – we can’t wait to meet you!

Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the people management and development within the staff team. This is a key role in guaranteeing the quality of our service delivery. You will be self-motivated and have a passion for positive change and the confidence to make difficult decisions under pressure, especially if things do not always go to plan!

Having strong interpersonal skills will be essential for this role with the ability to build effective relationships with staff and the people we support.  It will be important that you are able to act as a role model, representing the service positively and demonstrating good practice to other members of the team.

You may need to cover the odd shift in case of emergency. This will require you to do some front line support work with the individuals we support.

To be considered for this role you must have experience and knowledge within the social care sector, working with people with autism, Mental Health and behaviours that challenge. You should also have experience leading teams in Learning Disability services and knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, and you must be competent in using IT. Also, for the role you will be part of a region wide on call rota.

As well as a nationally recognised training programme within the charity sector we also provide excellent career development opportunities, attractive pension scheme, competitive holiday allowance, childcare vouchers, discounts of different high street retailers and much more

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Practice Management
  • Observing staff to ensure high standards are continuously met
  • Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are met
