  • We're excited to announce an opportunity for a DBS Administrator to join our small but mighty team! You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and compliant processing of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for our employees, volunteers at Mencap, and external customers.
     
    This is a part time, permanent position with flexible working options. The role requires you to work 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday, you can choose to work from home or from our Peterborough office, with weekly office visits. During your first month of training, you'll be expected to come in twice a week.
     
    You'll be working closely with one other team member. Here are some of the key responsibilities:
    •  Administer and manage DBS checks for new and existing staff, volunteers, and external customers.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of DBS results, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
    •  Communicate with applicants and stakeholders about DBS check statuses and required actions via emails and phone calls.
    •  Respond to queries and provide guidance on the DBS process.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing data and presenting evidence.
    • Assist with managing DBS-related documentation and archiving.
    • Liaise with the DBS or third-party providers for escalated DBS matters.

    The successful candidates ideally will have experience working within a customer service environment and using a range of systems.
