Saffron Walden Mencap Society is a charity based in North West Essex who are committed to improving the lives of our members who are all young people or adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. They are passionate about giving our members a choice - making decisions about where to go on Friday evenings and who to go with, and so their input is a huge part of our planning process for their Friday night outings.

Key Responsibilities:
You will support varied Friday evening activities for members across two social clubs:
1) Go With Our Flow (GWOF): For members aged 16 to 25.
2) Our Choice: Our brand new club for members aged 25 and over.
As a Companion, you'll support members in a range of activities, making a real difference to their lives.
Saffron Walden Mencap are looking for:
> Motivated and organised individuals.
> Experience in social care or supporting people with learning and/or physical disabilities is desirable, but not essential for
the right candidates.
Essential: A full driving licence and own vehicle are required, as activities involve transport. Mileage and agreed
expenses will be reimbursed.
Hours: 3-4 hours on Friday evenings, with a commitment of at least 2 Fridays per month. You may work across both clubs.
Important: Employment is subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references. Safeguarding training will be provided.
