Both Talent Acquisition Specialist roles are permanent, full-time positions (37.5 hours per week) based at our Peterborough office. While this role is office-based, we understand that work is something you do, not just a place you go. At Mencap, we offer our office-based colleagues and teams greater flexibility regarding where their work is done.

At Mencap, we value a diverse and inclusive workplace and we intentionally plan for the success of our colleagues in everything we do. We welcome applications from everyone, so come as you are and join us. Together we are Mencap!

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist you will predominately be recruiting for Support Workers to help change the lives of people with a learning disability. It is a very busy role where your proactive and positive approach will help us in our mission to find the right talent to join and stay with our organisation

As a Recruitment Team we pride ourselves on providing the very best candidate experience, from application all the way to the “On boarding” process and beyond, and we are looking for a Recruiter who feels passionate about delivering excellent customer service every step of the way.

What will you bring to the Talent Acquisition Specialist role?

  • Previous experience working within a high-volume recruitment setting, either agency or in-house recruitment team is beneficial but not essential.
  • Confidence in calling candidates on the telephone and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Ability to remain positive and calm under pressure and enjoy working in a busy, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to think outside the box and come up with fresh ideas for attracting new talent.
  • A willingness to facilitate and champion change
  • Being a team player who is collaborative and flexible is key.

For a more extensive list of skills and requirements for the role, please look at the job description.

This is a challenging role, you will need to be an enthusiastic and resilient person with the hunger to find the very best talent. We put the people we support at the forefront of our adverts, so they are as person centred as possible, to ensure that every candidate really gets to understand the person they could potentially be supporting.

Mencap is one of the UK’s leading learning disability charities and we are constantly growing, this is due to the success of our services and the support we provide to people with a learning disability.

Please submit an up-to-date CV and covering letter that highlights your relevant experience and skills for this position. If you need any additional information, feel free to contact Emma Willis from our recruitment team at [email protected] or by phone at 01733 873736.
