We now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to support the Service Manager in managing 4 services within Leigh on Sea, Southend on Sea & Canvey Island.
This is a permanent and Full time position, 37.5 hours per week.
The people who live in the services are supported with varying levels of learning and physical disabilities.
You will primarily be supporting the Service Manager to lead and motivate the team of support workers whilst ensuring compliance and best practice standards are met, through delegated management tasks.
You will play a key role in guaranteeing the quality of our service delivery and ensuring that we are always improving the support which we deliver. As part of your role you will, at times, be required to support within the service acting as a role model to our team of support workers, by demonstrating best practices and enable teams to develop their skills and abilities.
You will need to be able to demonstrate Mencap’s core values in all that you do. You will also need to demonstrate your professionalism, ability to work under pressure, priorities your workload and follow Mencap policies and procedures.
The role of Assistant Service Manager will require you to be able to fulfil a 37.5 hr per week contract. This will include a combination of 3 management days and 2 days supporting shifts, although there must be an element of flexibility in this to meet the needs of the service.
The successful candidate must be able to work across 7 days per week (to include 2 off days), including early and late shifts and possible sleepovers on occasion. The successful candidate must be able to work one out of 2 weekends.
