As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
We support 5 ladies in a residential care home in central Salisbury, ranging in age from 40 – 80 years old.
The ladies have varying interests; they love going out and about to various events and community-based activities such as the cinema, swimming, shopping, or simply having a coffee with friends. At home they enjoy craft activities, games and baking as well as being supported to help with household chores.
All the ladies need support with their communication, so we use a variety of methods to enable them to tell us how they wish to live their lives. These methods include pictures, symbols and Makaton (sign language).
We are looking for energetic, positive Support Workers to join our well-established team. It is important that the people who provide support in the home are kind, caring and creative, so if you have a good sense of humour, can be flexible and reliable then please apply today!
What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
- Full-time: 37.5 hrs
- Part-time : flexible hours based on availability
- Relief: Flexible working with no set hours/shifts
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
- Days: Between 07:00-22:00
- Sleep-ins: 22:00-07:00
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.
