We are looking to recruit a Relief Support Worker who is patient, caring and likes to try new things to support individuals with a learning disability within our services Trimley.
Our Trimley Service is a friendly and busy bungalow that supports 4 gentlemen. Our service in Felixstowe supports 5 gentlemen with ages ranging from 20-50. The gentlemen we support all have a busy social life and a number of hobbies & interests such as; growing vegetables, seeing family members, meeting friends, attending social activities, talking about current affairs, using their tablet and much more.
The person we are looking for would need to have a good sense of humour and an empathetic understanding of the people we support. It is important that you can support with personal care, finances and medication. The people we support can communicate, but you will need to be patient for those that take longer to express their needs. One has little verbal communication, however they communicate using body language, gestures and vocal noises.
As a Relief Support Worker you have the flexibility to work the shifts that work for you, however we do look for people who have a degree of flexibility as to the shifts they can work that may include weekends, evening and sleep ins. This would be a great opportunity for a person who already works and would like to work a bit extra, for mums and for people in retirement or for students.
You do not need to have a valid UK driving licence as buses run from Ipswich to Felixstowe every 20 minutes. The bungalow is on the bus route so is easy to get to. The train station is also 15 minute walk away.

You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.
