Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a passionate Community Support Worker to join our incredible team in Horden and Peterlee, hours are 20 hours per week. Due to the varied length of support shifts it would be a benefit if someone lived local to the area (some shifts are only 2 hours and you may visit numerous people we support on the same day).
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs and the people we support in the Horden and Peterlee area are a joy to work with and from assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
The successful applicant will be working across a range of services providing support to nine people with a learning disability in Peterlee, Horden and the surrounding areas.
What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
This role does not requires you to be a driver but it would be beneficial.
