We are looking for caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our teams in and around the Mansfield and surrounding areas in our supported living services on a permanent basis.
Full time, Part time and Relief contracts are available. Example of shift times are 07:00 am – 14:30 pm, 14:30 pm – 22:00 pm, waking nights 22:00 pm – 07:00 am and a mixture of additional 1-1 hours that vary from day to day. Our Rotas are organised 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your social life well ahead.
We can accommodate shifts for those looking for weekend work only or those seeking just night work. Just let us know what you are looking for as we can be flexible and accommodate most requests!

Our Service & The People We Support

The people that live here require 24-hour care and support. They enjoy a range of activities including:
- Going out for walks
- Going out to meet up with family and friends
- Going for a drive out to places of interest
- Having a tea/coffee at the local cafes
- Local days out into town, to the popular parks and restaurants
- Going to the theatre and cinema
- Playing snooker / pool
- Swimming
- Day trips to the seaside, theme parks, museums, zoo’s, farms etc

- Themed days such as Films and popcorn, fancy dress
- Celebrating with parties on birthdays, at Christmas, Easter and Halloween
- Arts and Crafts

What does a Support Worker do?
Working for Mencap you will be expected to provide an outstanding service that provides a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life for the people we support.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day - assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
- Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking healthy meals.
- Excellent communication skills/relationship building – supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion- supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
