As part of the Mencap Visiting Service we are looking for a volunteer to visit a gentleman is in his late 70's who has learning disabilities. He lives in a residential home with other elderly residents too.
He is a quiet gentleman who loves to spend time in relaxing at home in his room. He likes to listen to classical music and has a really interest in space, trees and travel too.
He is looking for a volunteer who is very relaxed, calm and patient.
He will enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you who has similar interests, who can chat with him about travel and different countries. Or sometimes you might just join me in watching the TV.
By visiting every other month, you will make a huge difference.
You will be introduced and get to know him with our support and the support of the home Lifestyles Coordinator.
When & where do I need to be available?
- Visits will be every 2 months and can be during the week or weekends.
- Visits will last around 1 hour.
- Visits will take place at his home.
As a Mencap Visiting Volunteer you will be:
- Aged 18 or over
- Friendly, patient and reliable
