Job Advert

We are looking for positive, dynamic, and supportive Relief Support Workers to join our team within the Stamford Service (Cedar Road).  If you are looking for a role where you can become a valued member of the team, make a difference to people’s lives, and go home feeling rewarded then this is the opportunity for you.

You will need to be pro-active, have strong interpersonal skills; and be unafraid to let your personality shine through. Our best support workers demonstrate the ability to build true and meaningful relationships; whilst being able to adapt their delivery as necessary to the individual. This could involve anything from supporting with budgeting and housing needs to showcasing your sense of fun at the bowling alley!

Your main responsibilities will be to make the day-to-day decisions easier for the people we support. This role involves working with several individuals with learning disabilities; and as such; being able to work with several personalities. An example of some of your duties are listed below:

Do you want to make a positive difference to people’s lives?  For some people, Support Work is something they would love to do but life makes it difficult to commit to a full or part time position. That's where the role of a Relief Support Worker comes in! It gives you the flexibility to choose the shifts you want to work, based on your availability and the needs of the service.

As a Relief Support Worker flexibility is key as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts.  You should have the ability to work flexibly across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays and shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights.  Your flexibility is therefore essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.

You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £60.00 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.

The role of a Relief Support Worker can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability.  You will need to be quick thinking and have a positive can-do attitude.

What does a Relief Support Worker do?
