About our Service
We support six people who have lived together live in a 24 hour supported living bungalow for a number of years. They are great friends and are all early risers who like to make the most of their day!
They enjoy going out most mornings to do shopping and activities and they will sometimes stay out for an occasional pub lunch. During the afternoons they like to kick back and settle down watching TV or films, have a game of bingo or participate in other house activities such as baking, meal prep, crafting or sitting outside taking in the sunshine with our Support Staff. Some enjoy planting seeds and watching them grow through the summer months or just sitting and watching/feeding the birds that come into our garden.
This is a busy Service due to the high levels of support needed to chaperone the people we support to regular hospital appointments. Travel to and from hospital is via hospital transport and can be as often as four times a week
The people we support are are looking for their new Support Worker to be friendly, enjoy participating in all of their activities. Most importantly, they are looking for someone who has a good sense of humour and are respectful to their individual needs.
Here at Mencap we understand how hard someone with a disability can find things without our support. We are looking for flexible, reliable team players with diverse backgrounds willing to commit their time to support the individual in their everyday needs
