Job Advert

In August, Mencap ambassador and Hollyoaks actor Emily and her aunt, Teresa, will be climbing Snowdon to raise money for Mencap and Sunday Circle.
Teresa is turning 60 soon and has been supported by Mencap throughout her life. It has always been her dream to climb the mountain.
Hollyoaks actor, Emily, said: "Mencap have just done a campaign called Mythbusters and I think, there was something about busting the myth that people with learning disabilities weren't fit and couldn't do big challenges like this.
"We want to shake the stigma that someone like her couldn't do this." take a look at their story here.

On Saturday 16th July Mencap will be supporting their personal training session at David Lloyd Gym, Cardiff. The aim is to support the session, fundraise and raise awareness of Mencap at the same time.

We are looking for a small group of volunteers to support on the day anytime between 10am and 4pm. There are number of different roles you could do:

  • Helping to set up
  • Chatting to gym members
  • Taking card payments for donations

The David Lloyd Gym is popular with well known local sports people too, so we also hoping to get some photo and video opportunities on the day.

What skills do I need?

  • Be friendly, approachable and a great ambassador for Mencap
  • Be reliable and on time
  • Comfortable chatting with the public
  • Enthusiastic

All we need is for you to commit 2 - 3 hours to support our fantastic fundraisers Teresa and Emily. They are raising valuable funds to change the lives of people with learning disabilities.

Come and join us!

Benefits

As part of #TeamMencap you will have a really fun day and also:
  • Help with set up and pack up on the day
  • Receive a Mencap t-shirt to wear on the day
