Looking for your next surveyor role? Come and join us at Mencap in the role of Senior Building Surveyor. We're looking for an experienced surveyor (preferably Chartered Surveyor MRICS but tell us about your experience) to join us full time (37.5 hours per week) . The role is home based, with travel across the UK, including to a number of properties in East Anglia.
What we’d love you to do:
- Take day to day lead with regards to all of Mencap’s Building Surveyors working as a senior member of the Property team to support the Head of Property to deliver the 5 year plan and Mencap’s objectives
- Adopt an approach of continuous improvement to ensure that our built environment is safe, fit for purpose, enhances outcomes for our clients and meets the expectations of our regulators, including the CQC
- Work in a responsive manner to ensure that queries, concerns and issues are promptly and effectively resolved, keeping relevant stakeholders informed and reporting to the Head of Property when appropriate
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders and contractors.
- Speak positively and enthusiastically about Mencap, the Property team and the Finance Directorate to ensure a professional service image and service delivery is established and maintained.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Mencap's mission, vision and values and set an example for the delivery of these in the things that they say and do.
- Agree with the Head of Property the regular reports that are required, taking responsibility for collating this information and producing reports and presentations in a format that is suitable for the audience they are intended for within the agreed timescale.
- Maintain and distribute any information in accordance with data protection legislation and Mencap policy requirements.

Please note that while we do not issue car allowances, the travel requirements of the role have been taken into account in the salary and mileage is paid at 45p per mile. Whereas a car allowance amount would be static, any future salary increases would be payable on the full £49,670 salary.
