Mencap have a great opportunity for an experienced Digital Engagement Officer to join our Network Team.

This is a fixed term contract until March 2022 and is for 37.5 hrs per week. The role will be home based.

The successful Network Digital Engagement Officer will work collaboratively with the Network Communications and Digital Marketing Manager and your fellow Network team to develop innovative content to ensure that Network Partners and internal teams at Mencap are well supported with email marketing, our online communities and social media.

We are recruiting for a confident and competent communicator who have demonstrable experience of using Dotdigital and/or Mailchimp (or equivalent). We use a range of different platforms and methods to increase our engagement with Partners including email marketing communications, the Your Network Online platform, the Engage4 app, a Facebook community and postal communications.

Ideally you will have a Digital marketing/ communications qualification or have extensive experience in this sector and knowledge of social media analytics and reporting.

As Digital Engagement Officer you will support and contribute to the engagement strategy to connect and grow Mencap’s affiliated Network. Creating content, keeping track of timelines and supporting with managing digital activity is all part of the job.

Essential skills and experiences required for this role:

  • Proficient digital, data, marketing, insight and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrable commitment to inclusive working, ensuring equality and valuing diversity
  • Excellent organisational and self-motivation skills
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a simple and compelling fashion
  • Experience of use an email marketing system e.g Dotdigital, Mailchimp
  • Knowledge of email marketing best practice and data regulation
  • Knowledge of social media and what makes great content
