Social Isolation has been a real consequence of Covid-19 could you help Mencap to reduce loneliness in people with a learning disability?
 
We are looking for a volunteer to join Mencap and support us to help people to overcome the loneliness of isolation through becoming a Visiting Volunteer
 
We are looking for a Volunteer to:
  • To build a rapport with a gentleman in our service through regular visits every other month. 
  • Work towards building this individuals confidence to go back out into the world and support him to enjoy his local community more. 
  • If you have an interest in either Dr Who or the Eurovision these conversation starter would get you well on your way to supporting this gentleman.
 
 
What do I need to volunteer:
    • Aged 18 or over
    • Friendly, patient and reliable

Mencap are strongly encouraging all our colleagues to have the Covid-19 vaccine as a way to help protect each other and the people we support.  This is especially important in direct support roles as evidence is starting to grow that the vaccine could help stop the spread of the virus, as well as protecting the person vaccinated from getting very ill.

In addition, it is mandatory that you take a lateral flow test on the day of your volunteering
