We are recruiting for a full time (37.5 hrs per week) Compliance Officer to work within our Compliance team ensuring our homes meet the regulatory standards for Health & Safety.

The role is home based with substantial travel across the South East Region. It would be ideal if you were located in the Reading/Guildford/Milton Keynes areas for travel across the region including into Central London. You will also be required to travel to the Head Office at Manchester at least once a month.

You will be responsible for the service contracts for the Compliance Big 6 asbestos, electrical, fire safety, heating, water hygiene and specialist equipment, as well as ensuring all servicing and legal requirements are adhered to.

You will work closely with the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Officers and other internal stakeholders to ensure that all GLH properties are maintained to a high standard.

We need someone who can hit the ground running and has strong experience of working in a similar environment. This role is extremely varied so requires an individual that can multi-task, prioritise, take direction and work on their own initiative.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • Ability to prepare and interpret numerical data and explain to others
  • Good Understanding of Key “Big 6” Compliance Areas – Gas/Electric/Fire Safety/Asbestos/Legionella & Specialist Equipment
  • Knowledge of Building Health & Safety and relevant legislation
  • Previous work in scenario with vulnerable customers, potentially with a Learning Disability (LD)
  • Recognised professional qualification within one of the compliance areas
  • Ability to write clear, concise letters and reports
