Job Advert

We are looking for a volunteer visitor in Blyth, Northumberland where we support an gentleman with a learning disability. He loves going to the pub for a pint and his favourite meal of fish and chips. He also really likes to listen to music, watch TV or do some crafts whilst relaxing in his home. He is able to communicate well both on the phone and in person and loves to make a cheeky joke or two. 

This role is for a volunteer who is passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and are looking for the opportunity to build a supporting relationshipOur volunteers are kind and passionate people. They are keen to challenge themselves and others for the best possible outcomes, and they are inclusive of everyone, regardless of disability.

About this service:

We offer a lifelong befriending service for people with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of individual people with a learning disability.

Our visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing.

In many cases, our visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.
