Mencap are recruiting for a Service Desk Build and Repair Engineer to join our growing IT team.
This role is a full time (37.5 hrs per week) 3 month FTC and it will be based at our Business Support Centre in Hampton, Peterborough. The type of work that will be undertaken in this role means that you will need to be on site. Home working is not a suitable option.
The Service Desk Build & Repair Engineer is responsible for building, updating and repairing both traditional laptops, chromebooks and desktops. Workload is driven from tickets raised on the Service Desk and managed to strict Service Level Agreements.
The role also involves testing new hardware and software, arranging disposals of old obsolete equipment, working with second line or Project team during roll out of Better Faster Digital project and for new Office setups / upgrades and office moves / closures.

Key skills and essential criteria for the role:
- Proactive and confident administrator with the ability to take ownership of and solve problems related to designated tasks

- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working at speed to meet deadlines and targets

- Experience and confident in using IT applications
- Knowledge of Laptops, Desktops, Computers & Printers
- Customer Service experience
