Are you passionate about providing high standards of support? If you share our passion to improve the lives of people with a learning disability. Then four gentlemen who live in Askern would love to hear from you.

What the four gentlemen have told us they are looking for in the people that they want to support them;

You need to be an enthusiastic, and a very positive person. You will need to be part of a bigger team and get on with everyone. You will need to be kind, supportive and patient and understand why people behave in the way they do. You will always have time for a conversation and like to spend time talking. A good sense of humor and someone who likes to have friendly banter and some fun in their work would always be a good fit.

You will need to be motivated to improve people’s quality of life, ensuring that health care need is met. Someone who gets involved with activities and who loves music. A person who enjoys helping others to get out to visit family and to make new friends. Having plenty of new ideas about how to be part of the local community, and to be involved with activities both inside and outside the house. A person who is willing and able to drive the peoples own cars, would be preferred but it is not essential, and applicants from none drivers are also very welcome.

As a support worker based in Askern your role will to support the four gentlemen with independent living, meeting varying and ever changing needs.

Your duties will also include:

  • Basic housekeeping such as cooking, washing and cleaning
  • Meeting personal and health care needs (e.g using the toilet, bathing, and providing medication)

Do I need experience?

Quite simply- no! Our outstanding training, development and support means that we don’t need you to have experience. What we do ask for is that you are able to commit to our values at all times – challenging, caring, positive, trustworthy and positive. And if you do have experience – that’s great too.
