About Mencap

Mencap is the leading voice of learning disability. We want to see a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included.

We are determined to achieve this by changing attitudes, providing services and influencing those who can help us change the lives of people with a learning disability.

Volunteering with Mencap is your opportunity to help us achieve this, whilst having the chance to develop your skills, meet new people and join a passionate and dedicated team.

Job Advert

Come and join us for friendly social walks in the local area!

We support a group of people in their 40s and 50s with a learning disability in the Crosby area and would like to involve more volunteers to support them.

We are looking for a volunteer to support them out and about for group walks to local areas of interest.

You might go to the park or down to the canal for a walk in nature or along to the marina to watch the boats with the people we support. You will go in a group each time and will have the support of a member of staff.

Please note: none of the people we support at this service use verbal communication. They all have more sensory needs and therefore appreciate the sensory nature of walks in the fresh air. You may also be asked to push a wheelchair, so please consider this before applying.

Please either apply below or complete the 'I'm Interested in Volunteering' form and return it to volunteering@mencap.org.uk
