About Mencap

Mencap is the leading voice of learning disability. We want to see a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included.

We are determined to achieve this by changing attitudes, providing services and influencing those who can help us change the lives of people with a learning disability.

Volunteering with Mencap is your opportunity to help us achieve this, whilst having the chance to develop your skills, meet new people and join a passionate and dedicated team.

Job Advert

If you have a musical talent and can spare 1-2 hours per week, we may have the perfect volunteering role for you!

We support a group of people with a learning disability in their 50s and 60s in the Crosby area and would like to involve more volunteers to support them.

We are looking for a volunteer with musical talents/skills to come and play for the residents.

You could be a talented keyboard player or guitarist or perhaps you play another instrument. Either way, we’d love you to bring your instrument of choice along with you – we think the residents would benefit therapeutically and recreationally.

None of the people we support at this service use verbal communication. They all have more sensory needs and therefore would likely appreciate the sensory nature of music being played for them.

Please either apply below or complete the 'I'm Interested in Volunteering' form and return it to volunteering@mencap.org.uk
