Who we are

We are a group of four people living in a Mencap supported living home, we are all individuals who have varying disabilities. We are made up of three males and one female we have all been supported by Mencap for most of our lives and have a very good relationship with our support staff. We do take a while to get to know people so please give us time. Our needs range from personal care to accessing the community, we like to achieve goals and aspirations.

It is important that staff get to know us individually and learn our interests such as

  • Taking pictures of boats
  • Visiting churches
  • Sports
  • Cooking
  • Animals
  • Drawing/colouring
  • Going to day services
  • Going to concerts
  • Music
  • Shopping

We are all individuals and have very different personalities with different interests so to us it is important that staff follows Mencap’s five values to support us how we want to be supported.
