Job Advert

We are looking for compassionate and caring individuals to join our team of Relief Support Workers to support adults with a learning disability at our Mencap service in Thetford.

We would like someone who is comfortable with supporting with personal care, and can ensure respect and maintained dignity throughout.

As a relief support worker you can you choose your days of work, however, we expect you to be available to work at least 3 days across the week, this could be over the weekend or throughout the week and there is also an opportunity to do night shifts if day shifts are not for you.

 
About the people you will be supporting

You will be supporting across 2 services, 1 service is a mixture of males and females whilst the other service is all males. All of the people have different likes, so would like an all-round support worker who will enjoy taking part in a range of activities with the person on people you may be supporting on the day.

Some of the activities enjoyed across service are costa coffee and people watching, cinema, doing jigsaws, listening to music, cinema and theatre trips, watching films and sport on the TV, attending football matches and the horses sometimes…. As well as going out for dinners and day outs to places like the coast etc.

We want our new support worker to be clean and tidy as we will need help to keep our home clean. We also require someone that will enjoy helping us to prepare meals, access the community and can support us with counting our money.

We want applicants to be flexible and to confidently be able to meet their needs. They must also be able to work a variety of shift patterns including weekends. A willingness to work extra if required during staff sickness and holidays will be a bonus.
