About Mencap

We want a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included. Everything we do is about making this world a reality.

Job Advert

Kate* is in her 70s and lives in our supported living service in Bristol.

She likes to go to the local Starbucks cafe and will introduce you to all the staff! She has a set weekly routine so ideally you will be available to visit her on a Thursday or at the weekend.

Kate will enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you. By visiting every 2 months, you will make a huge difference. You need to be reliable as she has had several visitors in recent years and would benefit from someone being able to visit long-term.

You will be introduced and get to know her with the support of Mencap staff who will join you on your first visit.

When & where do I need to be available?

Visits are every 2 months and can be during the week or at weekends.

Visits will last around 1 - 1.5 hours.

Before applying please check your journey to make sure it's practical for you.
