We are looking to expand our team of dedicated support workers in Warminster who are currently supporting individuals in supported living (within shared housing as well as outreach services) whom have a learning disability. Ages range from the early 20’s to the mid 70’s. We work in a person centred manner & support people to participate in a variety of activities suited to their individual tastes.

We currently have relief contracts available, allowing you to choose when you want to work. Flexibility is key as we provide staffing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Shifts will be spread across morning, afternoons, evenings and weekends as well as sleep ins.

You will be supporting people with day to day tasks such as shopping, cooking, personal care, cleaning, finances and medication. Each individual enjoys a variety of activities & hobbies, these include; playing snooker, going shopping and there is a real passion for music within the service – they even have their own music group and perform concerts every 6 months!

The people we support have said that you will need to be happy, motivated and have the ability to encourage people to go out into the community while building on social inclusion. The people we support would like you to have a real sense of humour and must treat the people we support with respect – as respect is the backbone of any real relationship. Furthermore, the people we support need you to be reliable yet fun, as they thoroughly enjoy having a good time!

As a support worker, all you’ll need to have is a positive attitude and a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability. Should you want the opportunity to work for Mencap, we will support you with award winning training and encourage progression in your role.
