You will spend time with a local man with a learning disability, visiting every 2 months.
This friendly and upbeat older man is a lifelong fan of James Bond – he even has a framed photo of Sean Connery on his wall!
He’s looking for a visitor who drives and will enjoy some activities together - going for drives in the countryside, enjoying a cold beer at a country pub and popping to the local café or garden centre for coffee and a piece of cake. He also enjoys music.
You'll be supported to get to know him with the help of Mencap staff.
If you are over 18, friendly, reliable, and have a car then this could be the perfect role for you!
You will make 6 visits per year, supporting him to take part in activities he enjoys.
As a Mencap Visiting Volunteer you will be :
- Reducing social isolation of people with a learning disability
- Increasing the independence and confidence of individuals with a learning disability
- Enabling people with a learning disability to fully access their local communities
- Volunteers must be aged 18 or over
