Job Advert

We are currently looking to expand our team of dedicated support workers in Irthlingborough who provide 24-hour care to a gentleman with a learning disability. We have 20-hour position available for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for the day to day livelihood of this gentleman and will help with personal care, administering medication and daily living tasks such as assisting with housework duties to include washing and general cleaning. The Gentleman also attends a local day centre 2 days a week, so you will also be required to support him with getting to the day centre. Driving is desirable, however not essential.

Another big part of being a support worker is being a big part of the fun! The Gentleman you will support has a busy schedule and loves to be out and about but will require support when going out in the community. He enjoys a variety of hobbies such as shopping, day trips, visiting local cafe's and going on long walks around the local country park.

Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job, so being flexible in the role is extremely important as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week and weekend, including mornings, afternoons and evenings. Sleep-ins will also be required. (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements).

This gentleman has helped create a profile about what he is looking for from his next support worker so please have a look at the Additional Details tab to get a real insight into the person you will be supporting.

One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability. Previous experience is not essential due to this admirable service offering bespoke training to all employees.

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)

Interviews will be held at the area office in Kettering.

We believe that all employees are amazing and we wouldn't be able to achieve what we do without them. Here are just some of the ways we would value and invest in you.
