Are you friendly and sociable?Would you like to volunteer for the Mencap Visiting Service supporting an adult with a learning disability? 

We are looking for a volunteer to visit someone in the Gateshead area. She's very active and keen on a variety of things, from cake and coffee at her local cafe to going to the cinema for a scary movie.

As a Mencap Volunteer Visitor, you will be:

·      Visiting a designated beneficiary around six times a year 

·      Enjoying various activities together  

·      Building a supportive relationship with the person you visit

The Mencap visiting service was launched in 1963 and was designed to be a befriending service to adults with a learning disability for after their parents passed away.
