About Mencap

We want a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included. Everything we do is about making this world a reality.

Job Advert

You will spend time with a woman we support, visiting her 6 times a year.

Our lovely animal loving lady is in her 50's and lives in a nice shared house with a couple of other housemates, who also have learning disabilities.

She loves getting out and about to see animals, popping to the pub, or helping out around the house. She loves to look good and enjoys wearing shiny jewellery. She loves banter and silliness with her housemates and support workers.

You will spend time with her joining in with her favourite activities. Visits can take place at home but as you get to know each other she would love to venture out with you.  Please note that she uses a wheelchair when outside so there will be some pushing involved.

She will enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you. By visiting every other month, you will make a huge difference.

You will be introduced and get to know her with the support of Mencap staff.

When & where do I need to be available?

Visits are every 2 months and can be Mondays or Wednesdays.

Visits will last around 1 - 1.5 hours.

She lives a few miles outside Eastleigh

Before applying please check your journey to make sure it's practical for you.
