Our Art group takes place on Friday afternoons in Islington. Around 7-10 people attend the group which is run by a Mencap facilitator.

 

The Art group runs on Fridays 1.30-3.30 is a chance for local people with learning disabilities to get out of the house, make friends, have fun and improve wellbeing.

 

As a volunteer you will support support adults with a learning disability to pursue their personal art practice, learn new art skills and prepare their work for exhibition.

 

You will also encourage conversation and support people to be social and make friends.

 

This is a really worthwhile and fun volunteering opportunity that will help make a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability.

 
 
To be an Art Group Volunteer you need to be:
  • Aged 18 or over
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Good at communicating and listening
  • Have an interest in art (talent is not essential!)
 
When & where do I need to be available?

Fridays 1.30-3.30

In Holloway, nearest tube Holloway Road/Caledonian Road.

We also ask that you commit to at least 3 months of volunteering.
