As a Female Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
We are looking for Support Worker’s to join our Services based in Peterborough and Whittlesey.
We currently have various positions available, which can be designed to suit your circumstances and fit around you! We can be flexible with the number of hours offered and will consider applications from all interested candidates. Five of these services are a service with a Sleep in and the sleep-in shifts are, paid at a flat rate. The other services do not require a sleep in. We also have various domiciliary support shifts within the community as well.
If you are new to working in care or looking to expand your knowledge and learn new skills this might just be the role for you! This is a busy but fun Service where you will be working alongside a fantastic team of friendly Support Workers who will help to ensure you are welcomed and receive a full induction. The role may involve moving and handling and we will ensure you receive full training.

About the Service
Currently we support 18 individuals throughout the week; Five individuals have 24-hour support currently with sleep in support overnight in their own homes.
The other Thirteen individuals have domiciliary support in their own homes and community support within Peterborough.
Each day is never the same especially when supporting to ensure they can lead an independent life. Some of the range of weekly activities is supporting with shopping, medication, financial budgeting and much more.
Some of the great things that can happen within the service is supporting a Gentleman on his skateboard at his favourite skate park Adrenaline Alley in Corby or supporting a young lady, on a weekly basis to access the local swimming pool.
It is desirable to have applicants that can drive with Business Insurance to support the individuals to access the wider community where possible.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.

What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
This role requires you to be a driver and able to drive a mobility car.
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.

- Full-time: 37.5 hrs
