Job Advert

We support a lovely lady in her late 50's who has a learning disability. She lives in a shared house with other residents with a learning disability too.  In this role you will spend time together doing some of the things she enjoy by visiting 6 times a year.

She is a lovely lady who really enjoys a cup of tea and a chat. She is very social and enjoys the company of others. She enjoys doing lots of activities, especially going to local café’s and a wonder around the shops.

She would like a male volunteer.

Visits will take place at home initially, but once you get to know each other you could go out and about accompanied by support staff.

She will enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you.  By visiting every other month, you will make a big difference.

You will be introduced and get to know her with the support of Mencap staff and his support workers.

When & where do I need to be available?

Visits will be every 2 months and can be during the week  or weekends.

Visits usually lasts around 1 - 1.5 hours or longer depending on what you plan to do together.

As a Mencap Visiting Volunteer you will be:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Friendly, patient and reliable

If you are volunteering within a CQC registered care home then evidence of full Covid-19 vaccination status is required using the NHS app or an NHS Covid-pass letter.
