Job Advert

We support a gentleman is in his 60's who has a learning disability. He lives in a shared house with other residents who have a learning disability too.

In this role you will spend time together doing some of the things he enjoy by visiting him 6 times a year.

He is a lovely gentleman who loves to spend time in the garden doing a spot of gardening and relaxing at home. He likes to get out in the local community too, going for lunch and a pint at the pub or a stroll around the local nature reserve, all with support from care staff.

Visits will take place at his home initially. Once you get to know each other he would like a volunteer to take him out for a drive, out to lunch or maybe to the local shops. You can decide this together once you get to know each other.

He is looking for a male volunteer who calm and patient, and also has experience in learning disabilities.

He will enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you.  By visiting every other month, you will make a huge difference.

You will be introduced and get to know him with the support of a key worker.

When & where do I need to be available?

Visits will be every 2 months and can be during the week or weekends.

Visits will last around 1 - 1.5 hours or longer depending on what you plan to do.

Before applying please check your journey to make sure it's practical for you.
